Kate networking

Hi, I'm Kate

I'm a London-based writer and editor from Melbourne specialising in the intersection of sustainability and design. In layman's terms, I like to tell the stories of people designing a better world (minus the greenwashing).

Before going solo, I worked in architectural communications at Make Architects. Since then, I've collaborated with engineering companies, tourism businesses, digital publications, brands and book publishers on a range of projects. I offer copywriting, editorial writing, copyediting and proofreading across digital and print formats.

My work has been published in Dezeen, The Architects' Journal, Peppermint Magazine, Urban List and Fashion Journal.

An advocate for sustainable fashion, I'm the founder and writer of The Mindful Materialist, a blog about fashion being a force for good. Beyond managing a values-driven brand directory, I also dabble in book reviews, travel guides and personal essays on there.

My creative writing has appeared in INTERMISSIONS: Grattan Street Press (Anthology Book, 2021), Grattan Street Press Blog, Antithesis Journal, Farrago Magazine, Lot's Wife Magazine, Judy's Punch Magazine, Perspective the Blog, Ablaze Zine, and Shift Magazine.

I hold a Master's in Creative Writing, Editing, and Publishing from the University of Melbourne, as well as a Double Bachelor Degree in Arts and Music from Monash University.
