Kate networking

Hi, I'm Kate

I'm a London-based writer and editor from Melbourne, specialising in the intersection of sustainability and design. I'm passionate about telling the stories of people finding creative solutions to make the world a better place.

Before going solo in my freelance career, I worked in architectural communications at Make Architects. Since then, I've collaborated with engineering companies, tourism businesses, digital publications, and book publishers on a range of projects. I offer writing, proofreading and copyediting across digital and print formats, and I'm always open to new challenges and projects.

An advocate for sustainable fashion, I'm also the founder and writer of The Mindful Materialist, a blog about the ways we can live more mindfully and celebrate brands doing good. This passion project allows me to share my experiences and tips, along with a curated brand directory, to help others live more mindfully.

My creative writing has appeared in INTERMISSIONS: Grattan Street Press (Anthology Book, 2021), Grattan Street Press Blog, Peppermint Magazine, Antithesis Journal Blog, Farrago Magazine, Lot's Wife Magazine, Judy's Punch Magazine, Perspective the Blog, Ablaze Zine, and Shift Magazine.

I hold a Master's in Creative Writing, Editing, and Publishing from the University of Melbourne, as well as a Double Bachelor Degree in Arts and Music from Monash University.
